When you should pick them over us
Apple Watch is non-negotiable: pick Strong. It has the best watch experience in the category — you can log a whole session without touching your phone — and that alone can be worth the subscription.
Your friends keep you training: pick Hevy. The social feed — following friends, seeing their sessions, liking PRs — is a real consistency feature, not a gimmick, and we don't have one.
Android-only, minimal, no accounts: look at FitNotes. It's genuinely free, tiny and offline, with CSV export built in — the trade is Android-only, a dated UI, and manual backups.
And the rest of our honest cons: no watch apps, no app-store listing (PWA install is genuinely fine, but some people want the store badge), a smaller built-in exercise library than Hevy's (custom exercises are unlimited), and a one-person project's bus factor — mitigated by the one-tap JSON export of everything, but real.
Switching takes about 15 minutes
This category is kind to leavers — Strong and Hevy both export CSV, so your history is never hostage.
- Export your CSV from Strong or Hevy — step-by-step in our export guide — and keep it as your archive.
- Open Repsheet and add the exercises you actually run.
- Log your first session from your current working weights. Prefill takes over from there — Repsheet has no CSV importer today, so you migrate your working numbers, not your archive.
The full landscape — including FitNotes and the spreadsheet option — is in Strong and Hevy alternatives in 2026.
